"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed." -Albert Einstein
The Dark Horse
From the wild he grew
Different from all the other ponies
He dares all the odds
Even the dreaded animals.
He dared even the two legged
He’s not for ride by anyone
He dares all, excluding none.
He seems unskilled, but he wins the job.
He doesn’t belong to the political cliques but he won the votes
He fears only that which will break his courage
He is a horse but not just any kind of horse;
He’s the horse, one of a kind.
He is the most fascinating thing that has ever happened…
They call him the Dark Horse.
The horse that cannot be tamed
He instinctively charts his way
He charts this way not for himself but for others.
He appears where he’s least expected
And disappears when people least expect it.
If you can’t be taken for a ride
If you appear where people least expect
If you dare what others can’t
If you win favours without playing the cards
Such is the manner of ‘the Dark Horse.’

Tale of a Diamond
Do you know why people prize me
So high? The maker chose it so to be.
I’ll tell you my tale,
Long time ago, when the maker set His scale
Of creation, I was included among
The precious stones as we came along.
Something fascinating happened;
Different degrees of heat and pressure ratings was penned
On our tags, to onyx, quartz, emerald
And all of us were there in general
To get our heat and pressure ratings.
What! I exclaimed, some stones have very low heating
And pressure to transform. My! My!!
I can’t believe this! Mine was very high.
I had to ask my maker, ‘how comes mine is so high?’
He told me that “you are a gem to be prized so high”
So your heat and pressure is different. High
Prize because of your beauty coupled
With utility. You can’t be toppled
By any other stone for beauty and utility.
He told me to go through the fire by availability
And come out refined hard and brilliant,
And become a stone so valiant.
Oh my! The heat is killing me!
I can’t stand the pressure on me!
I cried out, but He said He wants the best for me!
And He knew that He deposited the Best in me.
Only the heat and pressure can bring it out-
For people to see and shout;
“What a beauty!”
They knew not when I was in self pity.
Many have bought me for a fortune-
Even in my rough state for fortunes.
The polishing was tough
Since He wants to smoothen the rough.
Oh me! I cried out but these gifted
Men cut me to shape and lifted-
Me to the highest bidder
To buy me for something better
Than any other can offer,
To suspend upon the breast of the elegant woman
Or find my spearheading the most expensive drilling rigs manned by man.
I knew I suffered,
But it paid off at last.
Many people anxiously fast
All because they want to mine me,
They blast rocks and dam rivers to get me.
Oh! All because of me?
They make do with other stones
Only when they don’t find me among stones.
Many desert wives, homes, towns
Hunting for me in streams to own.
Oh no! I remember somebody
In order to get all of me stabbed his buddy.
Nobody wants to miss me for his own.
I remember somebody, after a big “hunt down”
He went wild with ecstasy in a spasm.
He nearly ran insane, so ebullient, Oh what an organism!
Just because of me, poor me that once-
In a lifetime cried for the heat and pressure so tense.
But now it’s all a story.
I wish mankind will know this path to glory.
And let the maker do as He wish with them.
And get the best out of them.
How I wish I were a human being
I’ll dump myself to Him, seeing-
That He knows more about life
Than I’ll ever think for life.
Oh! Poor man!! Look up to your maker,
He alone can bring out the best in you.

A letter to my Wife for my Son (1)
My sweet, sweet Darling
You know I’ll never be hireling
To you and my beautiful little angels
But I’ve tried to living the life of evangels.
I don’t know when I will steady back
But make sure that my little lambs lack-
Nothing in this life. Teach them the right track
To follow, in order not to end in a wreck.
Teach my son that being a man
Is more than having a macho frame,
It is borne from the heart of humans
Who have brave hearts that gained fame,
Not from the three dimensional realm
But from the fourth dimensional realm.
Teach him to be content with what-
Life offers him. Someday, men will duff their hats-
To honor him.
Tell him that success is a journey,
The day he stops moving he’ll miss honey.
Which is more satisfactory than money.
The word will make him keep away from sin.
or sin will keep him away from the word .
teach him to stand on the truth
And never allow anybody despise his youth.
Don’t make my son be addressed as an uncouth
Individual in the society of polished diamond;
But help me polish him,
I will always be proud of him.
Teach him to sift out immoral-
Thoughts by the sieve of reason between the moral and Amoral.
Don’t always shield him away from evil
Teach him to use the light to fight the devil
Don’t send his bad friends away,
But teach him how to avoid their evil ways.
Teach him the power locked in the Internet and books,
And how to fetch it: for enviable looks;
He will attract from the intellectuals,
It has nothing to do with rituals.
Teach him to know himself.
Teach him to clear the shelf-
Of his mind and heart from fear:
But only God to reverently fear;
He’s my special Child.

(31) To my wife 4 my son (II)
Teach my son to be instant in season
And out of season, never try to tell my son
To follow the “instant-this-and-that-impatient-
Generation” but should learn to be patient.
In all life’s endeavours,
If he wants to gain many favours,
He must learn to wait for his time,
Life may taste sour for him like lime-
In the beginning, but it will pay off with time,
When his rhythm of life, will successfully rhyme.
Teach him not to go for today’s trifling dime,
For tomorrow’s abundance he will get without committing any crime.
Teach him to learn how to cry and laugh
Over hurts and pains which seems rough
But will mould him to become very tough.
Teach him manners
Teach him respect.
Teach him punctuality and regularity,
Teach him kindness,
Teach him gentleness,
Teach him bravery,
Teach him the power of decision making,
Teach him his right as a child,
Teach him sex education (body metamorphosis)
Teach him these stages, childhood, youth-hood and fatherhood.
Teach him to know people, peopled and unpeopled places, and powers.
Teach him to know people’s possessions & positions.
Teach him to know God and His savant servants.

Earn it
A man saved a city
From an impending danger
Later they crowned him ‘Hero’
This title, he earned it.
A man saved a school
From complete academic collapse
Later they made him ‘Principal’
This promotion, he earned it.
A man saved a church
From terrible moral shame
Later they ordained him ‘Deacon’
This ordination, he earned it.
A woman saved a child
From severe famishing hunger
Later medical Doctor became he; also saved he her life
This free medical attention, she earned it.
A woman tried to force respect
From a community she never served
The result, she was booed chased out of town
This woman didn’t earn it.
A cleric entering a religious community
From the podium, he cried ‘listen to me!’
The congregation ignored him
This cleric didn’t earn it.
A man forceful ‘demanded’ for free meal
From a restaurant; he was served an empty plate
The stewards spited him
This man didn’t earn it.
Earn it by learning
Earn it by Courage/Sacrifice
Earn it by service
Earn it by your initiatives.

A Great Lesson
***********************************************************************

The Christian
When a Christian fails to pray,
He will not fail to be a prey
When a Christian fails to study
His life will definitely be unsteady
When a Christian fails to be a witness
No need for a prophet to predict a weakness
When a Christian fails to visit
His life will be full of deficits
When a Christian fails to work
His life will be divided like a fork
When a Christian fails to believe
His life will not be full of relief
When a Christian fails to ask
He will never receive to solve a task
When a Christian fails to be known by deeds
He is not a Christian indeed.

Improve It
When a scent is sprayed in a room
That room will not be the same but will boom
From the smell of the scent
Until you will find it lent-
Out to neighboring rooms.
Influence is like a scent,
We are expected to send
Our influence abroad to many
Places we find ourselves even when without penny.
Don’t leave a place the way you met it;
Try your best to improve it a bit.
The reason why you are in that
Church, house, office or place is to make it fat.
The reason why you are in this
World is to improve it from hiss to bliss
The reason why you are born
In that family is to make destiny turn
For the better, for everybody
To end up becoming somebody-
Important in this life of ours;
When you really make it yours.
If it falls your lot to serve
Anybody anywhere, don’t swerve.
Do it as the ultimate opportunity
To make the world a better community.

To the Dreamer
I have always liked you
Until I found out that you
Think it is not yet due
For you to actualize those dreams with heavenly dew
What is actually keeping you?
I don’t think it is fair for you
To keep stacking up such dreams to yourself,
Get those dreams off the shelf
Of your heart and mind to share;
And God will send the fare.
Don’t cry!
Just try!!
When you keep that dream alive
She will grow and keep you till you arrive.
She will bring smiles to your face
And the faces of others in this race.
Don’t hurt the fragile dream,
For attention; tenderly touch her and she won’t scream.
Thank you for your dreams!
But make it rise to the top like creams
From un-skimmed milk.

Changes 2
Make as few changes as you can
Trees often transplanted bear little fruit.
If you have difficulties in one place
You will have them in another;
If you move because it is damp in the valley,
You may find it cold on the hill.
Where will the ass go
That it will not have to work?
Where can a Cow live
And not get milked?
Where will you find land without stones
Or meat without bones?
To fly from trouble
Men must have Eagles’ wings.
Alteration is not always improvement,
As the Pigeon said when she got
Out of the net and into the pie.
There is a proper time for changing,
And then mind you, bestir yourself;
For a sitting hen gets no barley;
But do not be on the shift forever,
For a rolling stone gathers no moss,
Stick-to-it is the conqueror.
He who can wait long enough will win.
This, that and the other
Anything and everything,
All put together make nothing in the end;
But on one horse a man
Rides home in due season.
In one place the seed grows,
In one nest the bird hatches its eggs,
In one oven the bread bakes,
In one river the fish lives.

Vision
Where there is no vision,
The people will perish without mission
Where there is no contact,
There will be no contracts
History can never be made without events
So, where there are no events,
Dull history will be the eventual.
The best tact for making-
History is through contact. Making
Great histories emanates
From making great dates
And contacts with great eventualities
That will uncover great personalities.

The man I Love
He likes me
But never wants
A hug from me.
He likes me
But never wants
Me to sit with him.
He likes me
But doesn’t want
To go out with me.
He likes me,
But never owns up
That he loves me.
He likes me,
But I’ve ne’er seen
Him do the die hard things.
He likes me
But he’s chicken hearted.
If he really does
Let him own up
And give me a hug.
If he really does
Let him own up
And give me a hug.
If he really does
Let him own up
And give me a peck.
If he really does
Let him own up
And date me.
If he really does
Let him save me
Like a princess in Arabian tales
From the fiery cage
Of tyranic loneliness.
If he really does
Let him cross seven seas,
Let him fight seven-headed beasts,
Let him break the gates,
That keeps me away
From the “man I love.”
If he really knows
That I really love him
He won’t do
What he’s doing to me,
O God!
Please help him;
To be a real man.

Giving (By John Ploughman)
What I spent I had
What I saved I lost
What I gave I have
Giving is true having
Giving to God is no loss:
It is putting your substance
Into the best bank.
Earn all you can
Save all you can
Invest all you can
And then give all you can.
Still strive to get on
For poverty is no virtue
And to rise in the world
Is to a man’s credit
As well as his comfort.
I wish you
Long life and prosperity
Sufficient of wealth
And abundant health,
Long years of content
And when life is spent
A mansion with God in glory.

Tithe
If you want your life situation to be tight
Do you know what? Don’t Tithe.
Give a hard fight,
And claim to be right.
You are already on your way
To becoming poor into abject poverty
Allow stinginess to hold sway
And you will lose e’en your choiced property.
When you pay your tithe,
You will gain insight
Then, you can successfully fight
To be opulent with all your might.
If you want your life
To be synonymous with poverty
Until men can describe you
Only by poverty, don’t tithe.
Remember, the wicked does not tithe;
His wealth is preserved for the right.

Faceless
There are different kinds of faces
In this life of many races.
Some faces are touched with grace,
While others are laced,
Others have frustrated faces.
With confused lives like maces.
There are faces spoiled by circumstances
While others are spoiled by substances.
Some faces wear a bold frame,
Some faces wear a weak frame.
While some faces look friendly
Other faces appear deadly.
Do you know me? Well I don’t think so,
Do you know how my face looks like?
Do you know how my eyeballs look?
Well, I don’t know you.
I mean I’ve never seen your face,
Though, I’ve heard a lot ‘bout you.
I wish to cast my pupils on you,
And gaze ‘pon a new ‘cquaintance.
For now I remain faceless
Till my face faces your face of grace.
And gaze ‘pon you’re your ordered stains
‘pon thin sheets of wood.
Keep coordinating the stains
From thoughts of your gray matter,
‘pon thin sheets of wood.
I remain faceless until my presence unveils
My true identity and make me wear a face.

Think
Many people think
No, everybody goes through this link.
Why do we have to think?
I believe in moving to the brink allowing those thoughts to sink.
When thoughts taketh possession
It takes us to a new position.
When we allow the words to rule
We will also rule with them as on a mule.
Come,
Sit down,
Take deep breath; inhale,
Then release it; yea exhale
Now you can set your mind a’thinking
And allow God’s word go a’sinking
Deep down into your heart
For you to rule here on earth,
And prepare for leaving the earth,
To our new place of mirth.
When you think too much
Worries will be the result of such
Therefore, think good things;
Think God’s things.

Write
Write,
Right?
If you don’t write
You will never right a wrong.
But if you don’t right a wrong,
You will never write a right
A wrong,
Is a societal ill,
That eventually kills.
The art of writing thrills;
When you find that it can cure
The societal ills to the core.
When you see it as your right to write
But don’t make writing a rite.
When you write
The wings of the printed page
Will spread your thoughts, without plenty wage.
Your words will leap over boundaries
Into Palaces, towns, homes, countries
And even the territory of enemies
When you want to convey
Your thoughts in words today;
You have to write, I pray.
When you utter your thoughts
The wind will steal your worth.
Though pictures speak more
Than a thousand words. For sure
Only words can explain what
The picture is portraying in worth.
When you want to lay bare
Your mind; write, don’t spare.

Loneliness
O loneliness,
Why did creator create thee?
I wake up some days and I’m worry-free
When you come around then you just spoil my day
And I feel so much of a clay.
O loneliness,
I like you around me only if I can overcome you
These days I know you
For your schemes are no more new
When you come around I will ride upon you
And get to a happy destination without you;
Because I know that you hate company.
O loneliness
Sometimes I like to be alone by myself
Yet, I hear your whisper of doom
Entering into my mind’s shelf
All because you don’t want my life to bloom.
O loneliness
You made Elijah lost his ministry
You made many couples part ways in misery
You made King David commit the bad with Beersheba
And his son with the Queen of Sheba.
Many men became great by overcoming you
Some fell by underestimating you.
O loneliness,
I learnt that you steal precious years
Of many mortals and left them with many tears
Only God, I know can give holy cheers.

Hey Lazy Boy!
Hey lazy boy!
Do you know that your life is not a toy?
Wake up if you are still sleeping
To the realities of life with leaping
Into what your life is designed
To become, which many have resigned
From. The way you are going
You will end up knowing
That the path you take in this life
Will sum up your success in life.
Do you think you will ever grasp success
Seeing that you wake up by 8am to access
Failure into your life everyday?
Authentic success comes to disciplined
Boys that wake up as early as 5am
If you want parents, peers and society
To admire your life, then propriety-
Is what you need to cultivate in your
Life; then the world will be yours to tour.
Stop turning on that bed like hinges
Come off that bed and take a swinge
Into the real world.
Don’t go unarmed, go loaded with the real Word.

Hey Trouser Girl
Hey trouser girl!
Do you know how you cause the mind of men to whirl?
When those trousers you wear?
You don’t need to ask me to swear.
I don’t have problem with those slim pretty girls,
But with those fat girls
That swing their ‘big tails’ in those trousers
Causing psycho-moral jam to us brothers and concerned sisters.
Well, to the pure all things are pure,
But do you know how long it takes to get a cure
From the moral damage caused by fat-arse?
Causing men to hit ‘car rears’ when watching ‘her rears’
Especially those whose trousers is a second skin,
So tightly close to their flesh for sin
To creep lustfully into the heart-
The target of the devil’s fiery dart.
Your Royal Plumpness, I pray, if you must wear
A trouser, I suggest a beach wear
Then you will avoid some men from watching your rear.
I say this without fear
For many homes you have caused to tear
When your tails you wag without fear
Of God in those skin tight trousers,
Implicating all other beautiful sisters
Who think what you do is great
They know not that they’ve lowered their moral rate
Here, I drop my poor pen,
As I mourn the plight of poor men
That have fallen prey to wagging tails
In trousers that have bad omen.

Granny’s Advice
Grand-Child,
When thou growest up
Many things will threaten thee to stop
Thriving to be an accomplished man
Keep your head up and high
Grand-Child,
You are a Child of destiny
Don’t ignore any details in your life though tiny
That white man’s creature that roles on its fours
Will some days ahead be yours.
Grand-Child
You will ride many exotic types of this creatures
But keep your dreams to mature
Don’t allow any other; your dreams to torture
But you should do that with many lectures.
Grand-Child
The God that created the moon will not fail thee
The God that created the sun will not fail thee
The God that created the eagle will not fail thee
The God that created the tiny little ant will not fail thee
The God that created the sparrow watches over thee
Grand-Child
When thou listen to people
And learn from people,
Someday, a sea of people will live to see you live to be great.
Geno:28/3/2k

Work
Work is the life-wire
Of a very strong and virile economy
Where the labor force have a strong desire
To work and transform their economy.
A dwindling economy is as a result
Of idle men yielding their selves as workshops
For the devil to render them as baskets full of insults
Until they crumble the wheel of commerce to a full stop
A lazy man hates to work
With his hands, waiting for luck
I dare to swear that he will be shocked
To find out that up to his grave he will find no luck.
Work is a comrade
Of those that want to leave a legacy.
They engage in a well meaning trade
That is full of great fancy
Work works when we set our minds to work
Luck works only when we set our hands to work
Receive counsel from the good old book
Let him not eat; he that does not work
I bet my life on it, let him be fed with gravels
Then he will learn how to find sustenance himself not minding if he has to travel
To pray you ought to;
But to work? Yes you must!
I’m ‘gainst workaholics’ stress
‘cause they cherish not the pearl of rest
‘nd ruin their lives with plenty stress
in order not to rest-in-pieces, I hope they’ll learn to rest
If you don’t know what work
Is all ‘bout, go to the Ants
The great comrades of work
They’ve left a lesson for the ‘I can’ts’ (I can’t do this-‘nd-that sort of a thing)
People don’t cherish lazy men
But hard working men.
For your work to work; work on your work
‘cause nothing works like work.

I Can’t
Before a child approach 216 months
He must have heard thousands
Of ‘I can’ts’ through these months
Contrary to the ‘I can’ factor.
I can’tism have ruined many striplings
I canism is our clarion call to striplings
Doing many of the things we claim we can’t;
In the real sense and tense we can.
Can’t got stuck in the mud
But only try brought it out
You can can your can’t
I believe can, can can can’t
Can’t can’t can can’t;
But can, can can can’t
If you can drop the ‘t’ out of can’t
You now certainly can.
You can do it
You can make it
You can’t just waste your life
On things that can’t yield life
‘I can do all things through Christ’says Apostle Paul
‘Who strengthens me’.
There are things you can do something about
There are things you can’t do anything about.
Let sleeping dogs lie,
I know you won’t just die.
I can’tism is always the problem
I canism is always the possible cure.
Geno:11/4/2k

The Power of Sight
‘Remember the blind man;
that our Lord Jesus Christ healed?
First he saw people like trees
Later on he was entirely healed.
People still see others like trees
They still see their dreams and visions like trees
They still see thing so hazy
They end up becoming lazy.
What can you see with your eyes
What you see you become
What you see you testify about
What you see you partake in.
What did father Abraham see;
When God told him to lift up his eyes and see?
A great land full of hopes and dreams
Which of cause he actualized.
What did Moses see on Mount Sinai?
What did Ham go to see in his Dad’s tent?
What did Eve see in that fruit?
What did those in Sodom and Gomorrah see in Lot’s house?
Where there is no sight
There will be no insight
When there is no insight
There will be no hindsight.
Geno:11/4/2k

Doing
Doing is a verb
I believe it is also a herb.
If a man wants to become.
He must set doing in motion.
If a man wants a great welcome;
He must respect doing in our nation.
Doing and don’t are strange bedfellows
Where one leads the other follows.
Where there is no do
There will not be a progressive fro and to.
Didn’t refused doing
Because doing is an optimist
While, he is an ardent pessimist.
Did is a sped arrow,
Didn’t is enough sorrow.
Do is a horse before a cart,
Doing is the horse pulling the cart.
