The Overcomer’s Arsenals
Text: Rev. 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”
The life of an overcomer and if there is any such word as overcame, I’ll employ it to explain their capacity to conquer, subdue, subjugate, and prevail over demons, forces, people, places, and possessions.
The world has not seen or is yet to see the kind of influence the kingdom of God will exert in the earth through the overcomers.
God has a select few, appointed, ordained, and assigned with the mandate of victoriously advancing the cause of the kingdom of God. They have no labels of denominations but are the very manifestation of the sons of God in the earth. Many of them are still being kept under lock and key pending the day of their glorious manifestation. They are still kept away as arrows in the quiver of their master and king waiting for when they’ll be sent forth.
Each of these ones are vital to the cause of the kingdom of God. Their trials, testings, trainings are exceptional because their wealth, grace, and authority in rising to the place of prominence is going to be glorious such as has never been seen before in the church and on earth. God will raise such ones to a privileged office that has never been occupied by man in history.
They are not a product of theological school of thoughts but the product of the redemptive work of the blood of Jesus. Such ones that were once far off from Jesus Christ but have now been brought near by the blood of Jesus Christ. Eph. 2:13
Such overcomers will rely on the eternal redemptive work of Christ who entered the Holy of Holies once for all with His own blood. Heb. 9:12
- Their conscience is cleansed from dead works by the blood of Christ to serve the living God. Heb. 9:14
- Through the blood they will receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. Heb. 9:15 (And what is that promise? It is summed-up in sonship. The manifestation of the sons of God. Rom. 8:18-23
- The overcomers will assert the putting away of sin by the sacrifice of Christ. Not just the putting away of sin but also the salvation of creation. Heb. 9:28
- They have the boldness to enter the Holy of Holies by the blood of Jesus not academic qualification. Heb. 10:19
- By the blood He has perfected the overcomers forever. They are perfect only through the efficacy of the blood of Jesus. Heb. 10:14
- God will put his laws into the hearts of his overcomers, and He will write them in their minds. Heb. 10:16
- God will delete their sins and lawless deeds from his archives. Heb. 10:17
- Overcomers have an uncommon respect for the blood of the covenant.
- They have due reverence for the Spirit of grace. Heb. 10:29
- Overcomers rely on the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than the blood of Abel. Heb. 12:24 it speaks healing, deliverance, prosperity, holiness, victory, authority, success, etc
- In handling sin and its guilt effect it takes only the blood.
In summary Heb. 13:20-21 sums up an overcomer’s prayer; “Now may the God of peace who brought up your Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen
The word of their testimony
The first thought that crossed my mind is the story of the Shunammite woman, whom after following the prophet’s advice relocated to another city following the severity of the famine, upon her return back to the land, she found out that she had lost her house and land within seven years of her absence. Even the appeal she made to the king couldn’t win the king’s sympathy until Gehazi (Elisha’s servant) testified about the wonderful thing God had done in her life through his master Elisha.
So it took a testimony for the Shunammite woman’s house and land to be restored back to her. The king ordered them to “restore all that was hers, and all the proceeds of the field from the day that she left the land until now.” 2 Kings 8:1-6
In this Overcomers era, testimonies will bring great restoration to the kingdom of God. They more they testify how they overcame the more creation will be restored back to its course. Acts 3:18-26
This also reminds me of the testimony kept in the Ark of the covenant. When Joash was made king 2kings 11:12, he was given the Testimony, which we know as the law. His been crowned and anointed was not complete to without the Testimony. In the overcomers case, they must keep testifying about the wonderful things that the Lord has done in their lives and in their ministry, at home and abroad.
This will mark the continuity of the Acts of the Overcomers. When your life is without adventure, risks, then you are a deadend. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
They did not love their lives to the death.
I have done and extensive article on “How to die enjoying it” you can locate it on the pulpit page of www.drgenesis.com/pulpit.htm . meanwhile, just to drop a few thoughts here. Why is the definite article ‘the’ included to the statement? It means there are different kinds of death, but this one is that of martyrdom. This death is more powerful and important in promoting the cause of the Kingdom. Jesus defeated death at Calvary. When He resurrected He made a public show of his victory to principalities and powers. Jesus spoilt their game plan. What the devil use to scare mankind Jesus turned it into a scarecrow.
Now this brings up the issue of faith. When a Christian relies on the blood of Jesus for redemption, and builds his call on his testimonies and is not afraid of death; man! That guy needs lots of faith. It takes faith to confess your sins, it takes faith to trust God for results, it takes faith not to fear death, it takes faith to be an overcomer. 1 John 5:4-6. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world- our faith. 2 Corinths. 5:7, For we walk by faith not by sight. Without faith it is impossible to please God.
Manifestation of the Sons of God
In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might LIVE through Him. 1 John 5:9
For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing (manifestation) of the sons of God. Rom. 8:19
It is time God release all those that have been tied down until such a moment as this. It’s time for such once to be unlocked for the massive work of redemption and restoration. All the Lazarus need to come forth. All the Daniels need to manifest. All the Josephs that had been in prison need to rise to prominence. The Sauls of this world need to be reached for a dramatic conversion of Paul. The Kingdom must be birthed. The people must see the stone cut without hands.
