How to die enjoying it

How to die enjoying it
By Apostle Dr. Genesis A. Dawuda DD(Hons)KSA

“So far as the law is concerned, however, I am dead-killed by the law itself- in order that I might live for God. I have been put to death with Christ on his cross, so that it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. This life that I live now, I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave His life for me.” Gal. 2:19,20

“If you want your life to be full of drama, make the deadline come closely.” Anon

“I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.” 1Cor. 15:31

“ For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we even despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves,  that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the death: who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us.” 2Cor. 1:8-10

Death: Definition – Dying; ending of life. 2. Killing or being killed. 3. State of being dead.
Enjoying: (Definition) Get pleasure from; take delight in. 2. have as an advantage or benefit.

What?!!! Enjoy death?!!! How can one really do that? Rather people run away from dying. My friend, I mean every word of what I wrote. You can ‘die’ enjoying it.
If you really want to know those that have demystified death, go to the Penitentiary and you will see those charged as Condemned Criminals (CC), they worship God better than a free citizen. Since they know that they have been sentenced to death, they try to live their best daily. And when the execution day comes or approaches they die empty, they make good use of every 24hours that comes their way.
Hey you Mr. Christian! Paul wrote that we have been sentenced, no wonder he wrote that he dies daily. Yes, he was also a CC for Jesus Christ. Even Jesus Christ was a CC. They poured out their lives for you and I to be saved, redeemed and delivered from sin, death and inferiority complex. But now we are a another form of CC (Comfortable Christians) and so reluctant to pour out our hearts to save others.
You must change from a Comfortable Christian to that of Condemned Criminals. For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
If you have a CC mentality you will boldly walk into that office, house, Church, and town to declare God’s mandatory message. Only CC mentality will nullify procrastination.
Don’t misinterpret my sermon  with suicide bombers, because some people can be so fanatical about religion and do some crazy things. My sermon is all about a change in mentality. Give your best time, resources and service to God.
Don’t just count the days of your life but make your life count. Paul wrote, for me to live is Christ and to die is gain. If you fear death it shows that you are under its control, but when you fear God the giver and taker of life you will snub death.
But you may ask, how can I die enjoying it? When you dare to move out of your comfort zone, you are actually dying (ending a life of mediocrity). The lion and the eagle will never catch its prey if it remains within its comfort zone.
But where does the Pleasures, joy, and delight come in. When you know that the prey is in the mouth of  the lion or the eagle or when the saint see souls won into the Kingdom of God.
You must be crucified with Christ in order to reign with Him. You can’t eat your cake and have it. When you loose grip of your life and security, Christ will give you one, but when you keep your own life you will loose that of Christ. Your earthly life is called transient but the one that Christ gives is called eternal, everlasting life or Zoe.
People who enjoy death or dying actually lay down their lives or should I say they know when to lay down their lives for a great transfiguration.
But who on earth died enjoying it? The Apostle Paul wrote in 1Tim. 4:6, “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto them also that love his appearing.
Peter the Apostle also wrote; 2Pet. 1:13, “Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; knowing that shortly I  must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath showed me. Moreover, I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.
Stephen: Acts 7:59,60 “And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
Jesus Christ of Nazareth: John 19:30 “ when Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, it is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”
Acts 1:9 “And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.” (That was after his resurrection)

The death of our Lord Jesus Christ has brought life to us. No wonder Paul wrote that we bear in our body the dying of our Lord Jesus might be made manifest in our body (mortal flesh).
Charles Spurgeon also made a statement that we impart life in others by the wear and tear of our own being.
Paul further wrote that, “So then death worketh in us, but life in you.” 2Corinth. 4:12
His is rich with the story of great people like William Tyndale who dared to confront the statusquo, Promising to make the common man knows how to read the Holy Bible for himself. John Wickliffe also dared to confront the priesthood of his time that the is not to be served as a prince in the vineyard of his master but to be a servant of the people, which incurred him the wrath of the Bishops  about 32 years after his bones were dug out form his grave and burned together with his books.
Most of the early church reformers had their own fair share of the attack, they were stoned with rotten fruits, hard objects and serious distractions during their campaigns.

Therefore, having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; with the conscious certainty and intercourse of knowledge (acquired facts and truth) that he which raised up the Lord Jesus  shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
For all things are for your sakes, (whether life or death) that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man  perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
For we know that when this tent we live in – our body here on earth is torn down, God will have a house in heaven for us to live in, a home he himself has made, which will last forever. And now we sigh, so great is our desire that our home which comes from heaven should be put on over us; by being clothed with it we shall not be without a body. While we live in this earthly tent, we groan with a feeling of oppression; it is not that we want to get rid of our earthly body, but that we want to have the heavenly one put on over us, so that what is mortal will be transformed by life. God is the one who has prepared us for this change, and he gave us his spirit as a guarantee of all that he has in store for us. So we are always full of courage. We know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord’s home. For our life is a matter of faith, not of sight. We are full of courage and would much prefer to leave our home in the body and be at home with the Lord. More than anything else, however, we want to please Him, whether in our home here or there. For all of us must appear before Christ, to be Judged by him. We will each receive what we deserve, according to everything we have done, good or bad, in our bodily life.” 2Corinth. 5:1-10 GNB
“And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is a delusion and you are still lost in your sins. It would also mean that the believers in Christ who have died are lost. If our hope in Christ is good for this life only and no more, then we deserve more pity than anyone else in all the world. But the truth is that Christ has been raised from death, as the guarantee that that those who sleep in death will be raised… the last enemy to be defeated will be death.” 1Corinth. 15:17-19
“ For I am certain that nothing can separate us from his love: neither death nor life…” Roms. 8:38
“ Death gets its power to hurt from sin, and sin gets its power from the law.” 1Cor. 15:56

Application:
This message can be applied in dealing with our carnal life, self, ego, and mortal identity which always intercepts the fulfillment of the will of God. So, for the glory of God to fully manifest in an individual’s life, he must subdue his flesh, put it to death.
Secondly, it can be applied in showing how transient this life is and how we are supposed to trust and depend on Christ who gives life.
Thirdly, it can be applied to encourage timid Christians with self-confidence, or should I say God-inspired confidence?
Next, it can be applied to inspire to hope, among the faithfuls.
It can also be used to encourage the bereaved.
It can also be applied to encourage men of God that have been sent on an Apostolic mission.
It can be applied to encourage those suffering from intense persecution and rejection, shame and humiliation.
It can be applied to warn against living according to the law instead of faith.
It can be used to warn us that sin can lead to death as an effect of judgement.
It can be applied to let us know that nothing can separate us from the love of God.

What to do to enjoy death

Write down your epitaph.
Write down your will.
Visit the Mortuary, Funeral Ceremony often.
Visit the sick as often as possible.
Dig out a grave and keep a Coffin for yourself.
Make the undertaker your good friend.
Rejoice with those rejoicing and mourn with those who are mourning.
Win as many souls as you can.
Visit as many homes, hospital, prisons as you can.
Pray with as many people as you can.
See death as an enemy that has been swallowed up by righteousness.
Go where you are celebrated.
Know that one day you will be translated into glory instead of seeing it as the end of your life.
Make “Our Lord’s Prayer” part of your philosophy of life.
