Philosophy of Appointments
Text: Deut. 1: 9-18, Titus 1: 5-9, I Tim. 3:1-7
“ The Greek word for ‘Bishop’ is episkopos and refers to an Overseer. Here, of course, Paul had in mind the office of the Pastor.
Another name found in the New Testament which may refer to this same position is ‘elder’ (Presbuteros in the Greek). These two terms, bishop and elder, are often used interchangeably (Acts 20:17-28; Titus 1: 5-7). The former Term (bishop) speaks of his office responsibility, while the latter term (elder) refers to his spiritual maturity.
Willmington’s Guide to the Bible, Page 706
The Greek Scholar Kenneth Wuest writes:
“The word Bishop is the translation of a Greek word used in secular pursuits of an overseer in any capacity, for instance, the official in Charge of the repairing of a Temple or an officer in an army. The Word itself means ‘to look upon’. Paul uses it as another name for an elder, the latter being the title of the office so far as statutes in the Church is concerned, the former being the title that indicated the responsibility and Activity of the office, that of overseeing the spiritual welfare of the local Church. He brings the two names together as designating one individual in Acts. 20:17,28

Bishop’s Qualifications

Quotation
A man must have a great heart if he would have a great congregation. His heart should be as capacious as those noble harbours along our coast, which contain sea room for a fleet. When a man has a large, loving heart, men go to him as ships to a haven, and feel at peace when they have anchored under the lee of his friendship. Such a man is hearty in private as well as in public; his blood is not cold and fishy, but he is warm as your own fireside. No pride and selfishness chill you when you approach him; he has his doors all open to receive you, and you are at home with him at once. Such men I would persuade you to be, every one of you.”- C.H. Spurgeon

Fundamental principles of ministry
by Apostle Dr. Genesis A. Dawuda
Definition:
Principle: A beginning, origin, element. A general truth; a law comprehending many subordinate truths; a method or rule adopted as the basis for action or conduct; uprightness; as, a man of principle; the primary source from which anything proceeds; a basic doctrine or tenet; an underlying cause; a law on which others are founded or from which others are derived.
Synonym: Axiom, canon, formula, guide, law, maxim, method, order, precept, propriety, regulation, standard, statute, system, authority, control, direction, dominion, government, jurisdiction, mastery, reign, sovereignty, rule.
Antonym: Chance, deviation, exception, hazard, irregularity, anarchy, chaos, misrule.
MINISTER, MINISTRY
A distinctive biblical idea that means "to serve" or "servant." In the Old Testament the word servant was used primarily for court servants (1 Kings 10:5; Est 1:10). During the period between the Old and New Testaments, it came to be used in connection with ministering to the poor. This use of the word is close to the work of the seven in waiting on tables in the New Testament (Acts 6:1-7).
In reality, all believers are "ministers." The apostle Paul urged the true pastor-teacher to "equip the saints" so they can minister to one another (Eph 4:11-12). The model, of course, is Jesus, who "did not come to be served, but to serve" (Mark 10:45). His service is revealed in the fact that He gave "His life a ransom for many" (Matt 20:28).
Jesus' servanthood radically revised the ethics of Jew and Greek alike, because He equated service to God with service to others. When we minister to the needs of the hungry or the lonely, we actually minister to Christ (Matt 25:31-46). And when we fail to do so, we sin against God (James 2:14-17; 4:17). In this light, all who took part in the fellowship of service were ministers.
The concept is strengthened when the use of the Greek word doulos is noted. This was the term for a bondslave, one who was offered his freedom but who voluntarily surrendered that freedom in order to remain a servant. This idea typified Jesus' purpose, as described by Paul in Phil 2:7. This passage alludes to the "servant of God" teaching of Isa 52-54. Truly Christ fulfilled this exalted calling, because His life was dedicated to the needs of others.
Following our Savior's example, all believers are bondslaves of God (Rom 1:1; Gal 1:10; Col 4:12). We are to perform "good deeds" to all men, with a responsibility especially to fellow Christians (Gal 6:10; Heb 10:24).
Our unselfish service should especially be rendered through our spiritual gifts, which are given by God to the saints in order that they might minister to one another (1 Peter 4:10). These gifts consist of both spiritual and practical gifts (1 Cor 12:28). They are distributed to various members of the church so that the union of believers can be expressed in loving service. In Eph 4:7-11 the offices of apostles, prophets, evangelists, etc., are described as divine "gifts" to the church. This is the one place where the officers of the church might be linked with the term minister. In a special way these officers do "minister" to the church-the apostles through their inspired leadership; the prophets through their inspired preaching and even foretelling; the evangelists through their traveling missionary work; and the pastor-teachers through their service in local congregations. Yet their primary service was to equip all saints for ministry.
The concepts of minister and ministry must be broadened today to include all the members of a church. The common concept of the pastor as the professional minister must be discarded, because the biblical pattern is for him to be the one who trains the congregation for ministry. All the saints are responsible for loving and ministering in various ways to one another, using the spiritual gifts distributed to each by the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 10:7 (Preach the kingdom of God) Central message of the Gospels; and the Word of God. Jesus never sent them to go preach about Him but the Kingdom of God because He is the King of that Kingdom and we are princes and kings in that Kingdom.
Text: Heb. 6:1-2
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead and of eternal judgment.
We can’t talk about this without declaring our faith in the Apostle’s Creed.
There are six basic Biblical Fundamental Principles of Ministry. These are;
1. Repentance from dead works: is the foundational doctrine of the faith of the gospel. To repent is to change. It is turning from sin. Repentance is to be preached by our ministry (Luke 24:47) If people repent, their sins are forgiven. Conversion is made up of two important stages i.e. Turning away from sin and Turning towards God in faith or Having faith in God.
2. Faith toward God: Follows repentance. When we repent we turn from one thing to another; we turn from sin, we turn toward God through faith in Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is to be preached so people will come to faith in God through Him.
3. Doctrine of baptisms: While plural, primarily refers to baptism in water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, following the practice of the Apostles in the book of Acts. In Romans 6, Paul teaches the doctrine of baptism. Peter teaches on baptism in 1 Peter 3:20-22. Both apostles teach that, through baptism, the believer is raised in resurrection life.
4. Laying on of hands: Primarily refers to receiving the Holy Spirit. When Saul(Paul) was saved, the disciple Ananias came and laid hands on him. Saul was healed and filled with the Holy Spirit.
5. Resurrection of the dead: refers to our walk in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. There are three important aspects of this doctrine; Jesus Christ literally rose from the dead; through His resurrection we receive eternal life[new birth]; thirdly, every soul will rise, some to the resurrection of the just and some to resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29)
6. Eternal judgment: Is the doctrine of eternal states, understanding that there are rewards and punishments and understanding that the church is to come into the place of true judgment in Christ.
These must be properly laid before the church can grow to perfection, maturity and completion.
Earlier, I took time to define what the term principle is about. If we browse through the synonyms you’ll believe with me that the word Principle has so many colourful words that can replace it.
And for the antonym, as few as they are, so also should we not despise or underestimate it; each word carries with it very heavy meanings of failure and chaos.
If your ministry is not built on the fundamental principles of the Doctrines of Christ, it will inevitably be destroyed by chance, deviation, chaos, anarchy, hazard, irregularity, misrule and exception.
Nobody wants to be tagged or labeled a hazard but so many people’s lives is heading towards that direction without them knowing.
· If you have not repented from dead works, then you are a chaos about to happen.
· If you don’t have faith toward God, then you have deviated from God.
· If you don’t build on the doctrines of baptisms, then you are in anarchy against your God.
· If you don’t respect the Laying on of hands, then you are misruled.
· If you don’t believe in the resurrection of the dead, then your life’s a hazard.
· If you don’t prepare your life for eternal judgment, then you have left your life to chance.
From Heb.5:12-14, we see the background of Heb. 6:1-3 in which it is the writer’s desire that we be
1. Teachers (Mentors, Masters, Trainers)
2. Of full age (Age of fullness) Always full of the Holy Spirit, Wisdom etc. Jesus was, so also the Apostles and deacons.
3. Able to exercise our senses to discern both good and evil. An absolutely spirit controlled temperament. The Holy Spirit controls your spirit man; the word controls your mind and strengthens your will to be firm in controlling your senses. (Leaving the realms of Growing babes, unskillful in the works of righteousness). Remember, the Holy Bible stated that, righteousness exalts a nation and sin is a reproach to a people.
The Gospel according to Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven.”
Stewardship and the Fruit of the Holy Spirit are also fundamental principles. The latter will be taken care of in Character Development.
But stewardship is very important.

Biblical Principle of Success and Teamwork
By Apostle Dr. Genesis A. Dawuda
Text: Col. 4:17
And say to Archipus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfill it.
We must first and foremost register it in our heart and mind that whatever service we want to offer in the household of God is received in the Lord in order for us to fulfill it.
Archipus received his ministry from the Lord, and he was charged to fulfill it.

The Ministry of Prayer By Apostle Dr. Genesis A. Dawuda
Text: Col. 4:12
Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in the will of God.
I Chron. 4:9,10. Jabez prayed and God answered his request.
Definition
Prayer: The act of asking for a favor with earnestness; a petition, supplication, entreaty; that which is asked; a solemn petition addressed to an object of worship. That part of a petition to a public body, which specifies the thing desired to be done or granted.
PRAYER
Communication with God. Because God is personal, all people can offer prayers. However, sinners who have not trusted Jesus Christ for their salvation remain alienated from God. So while unbelievers may pray, they do not have the basis for a rewarding fellowship with God. They have not met the conditions laid down in the Bible for effectiveness in prayer.
Christians recognize their dependence upon their Creator. They have every reason to express gratitude for God's blessings. But they have far more reason to respond to God than this. They respond to the love of God for them. God's love is revealed through the marvelous incarnation and life of Christ, His atoning provision at the Cross, His resurrection, as well as His continuing presence through the Holy Spirit.
Prayer cannot be replaced by devout good works in a needy world. Important as service to others is, at times we must turn away from it to God, who is distinct from all things and over all things. Neither should prayer be thought of as a mystical experience in which people lose their identity in the infinite reality. Effective prayer must be a scripturally informed response of persons saved by grace to the living God who can hear and answer on the basis of Christ's payment of the penalty which sinners deserved. As such, prayer involves several important aspects.
Faith. The most meaningful prayer comes from a heart that places its trust in the God who has acted and spoken in the Jesus of history and the teachings of the Bible. God speaks to us through the Bible, and we in turn speak to Him in trustful, believing prayer. Assured by the Scripture that God is personal, living, active, all-knowing, all-wise, and all-powerful, we know that God can hear and help us. A confident prayer life is built on the cornerstone of Christ's work and words as shown by the prophets and apostles in the Spirit-inspired writings of the Bible.
Worship. In worship we recognize what is of highest worth-not ourselves, others, or our work, but God. Only the highest divine being deserves our highest respect. Guided by Scripture, we set our values in accord with God's will and perfect standards. Before God, angels hide their faces and cry, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts" (Isa 6:3).
Confession. Awareness of God's holiness leads to consciousness of our own sinfulness. Like the prophet Isaiah, we exclaim, "Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts" (Isa 6:5). By sinning we hurt ourselves and those closest to us; but first of all, and worst of all, sin is against God (Ps 51:4). We must confess our sins to God to get right with Him. We need not confess them to another being. But we should confess them directly to God, who promises to forgive us of all our unrighteousness (1 John 1:9)
(from Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary, Copyright © 1986, Thomas Nelson Publishers)
According to E.W. Kenyon, Prayer is communicating to God about His Word (promises) in other words prayer is reflecting God’s word back to Him concerning your needs.
· How do we pray we pray all kinds of prayer? We pray through the wonderful and mediating name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Prayers cannot be done through any other name.
· Why must we pray? Because God commanded us to pray and His house is meant to be the House of Prayer for all nations. He said in Jere. 33:1 call unto me and I’ll shew you great and mighty things that thou knowest not.
According to Eph. 6: 18, There are different kinds of prayer.
1. Prayer by Martyrs in Heaven: Rev.6:9-11; here they are asking God when will they be avenged of their blood.
2. Thanksgiving:
3. Petition:
4. Corporate Prayer: Where two or three people are gathered corporate prayer is said to take be able to take place. The whole church can participate in corporate prayer but sin and disunity can make it ineffective. When the Church were gathered praying for the release of Apostle Peter from jail, they were in one accord and upright in heart. When they prayed for Boldness too, they were also in one accord. Acts
5. Supplication: 1 Tim. 2:1,2
6. Confession: Mark 11:23

The Ministry of the Word By Apostle Dr. Genesis A. Dawuda
Text: Acts 6:1-8
Definition: Ministry-Service
Word: A speech sound or combination of speech sounds, or its representation, used as the smallest unit of meaningful communication by language; any single linguistic unit that forms a grammatical part of speech; something said; a vocable. A short talk or conversation; as, to have a word with someone, an expression or utterance; as, a word of praise; an authoritative utterance; command; as, the father’s word was law; assurance; promise; as, to give one’s word; news; information; as, to send word of an occurrence; rumour; a verbal signal; watchword; password; Logos; the Scriptures, preceded by the speech; talk; discourse; conversation. Phrase; to express in words; Be as good as one’s words; by word of mouth; in a word; take one at his word; the last word; and word for word.
Word of God: God’s revealed will, Jere. 29:20: Title of Christ. Rev. 19:13
Revelation: God (Sender)
Inspiration: Holy Spirit through the writers of the scriptures (Messenger)
Illumination: Revelation knowledge (Decoder or reader)
The Word of God is known as personality and a revelation; these are the greek Logos (the very expression of the will of God) and the Rhema (The revealed word of God often known as revelation knowledge).
WORD OF GOD
The means by which God makes Himself known, declares His will, and brings about His purposes. The phrases such as word of God, and word of the Lord are applied to the commanding word of God that brought creation into existence (Gen 1; 2 Peter 3:5) and also destroyed that same world through the waters of the Flood (2 Peter 3:6); to God's announcement of an impending or future act of judgment (Ex 9:20-21; 1 Kings 2:27); to the word that declares God's commitment and promises His blessing (Gen 15:1,4); and to a particular instruction from God (Josh 8:27).
The term word of God is also used of the Ten Commandments given from Mount Sinai (Deut 5:5); of the whole Mosaic Law (Isa 2:3); of specific parts of the Old Testament (Rom 9:6; 1 Tim 4:5); of a more personal communication from God (1 Sam 3:21; 15:10); of the directive of God that set in motion John the Baptist's ministry (Luke 3:2); of Jesus' message of the kingdom of God (Luke 8:11); of the gospel as preached in the early church (Acts 4:31); and finally of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself (Rev 19:13).
God's word is the primary means by which He is present and working in the world. He is not Himself part of this world, but He acts in it by means of His word. He becomes personally known through His word (1 Sam 3:21). His word is powerfully creative (Ezek 37:4) and its purposes are irresistible (Isa 55:11; Jer 23:29). God's word is totally dependable; it represents His permanent commitment (Isa 40:8). When heard and responded to, His word meets deep needs in the human heart and provides joy, satisfaction, and confident direction which can be achieved in no other manner (Deut 8:3; Ps 119:162; Jer 15:16). God's word has the power to penetrate all pretense and discern "the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Heb 4:12).
God's speaking of His word reaches a culmination in the sending of His Son (John 1:1,14; Heb 1:1-2). All that is true of God's earlier word is supremely true of Jesus. The gospel of Jesus Christ is, in a special way, the word of God as it makes known and brings into operation the reconciliation with God which is His purpose for mankind (2 Cor 5:18-19). So central is the gospel to the purpose of God in this world that the successful spread of the gospel is the growth of the word of God (Acts 12:24).
Not only Jesus' message, but also all that He is communicates God to us. He Himself is described as the word of God (John 1:1; Rev 19:13). Jesus brings the presence of God to a new level-the personal presence of God in the world in a human life.

The ministry of the Word is the foundation upon which all success and destinies lie.
The Word of God is the source of our Christian faith and practice. Acts 20:32, “ And now, brethren, I commend you to the Word of His grace, which is able to (a) Build you up, and to (b) Give you an inheritance among them which are sanctified.
God told Joshua after the departure of Moses in Joshua 1:1-9
Good success comes as result of meditating and doing the will of God.
Another catch phrase for “Ministry of the word” is, “Ministry of the Will of God.”
A “Will” is the Testament or Words of a testator, which when legally written is done willingly with his consent not under duress by the owner of the Will.
Jesus is our Testator, unlike others who write down their Will. Jesus is the logos (Word) and Will, He both died and resurrected. He is alive to enforce His will concerning the plans he has for every child of God.
After the Deacons were elected in the book of Acts, while the Apostles dedicated themselves to the Ministry of the Word, Bible records that the word of God grew and multiplied. Acts 6:7; 12:24; 19:20
Where the Word of God is allowed to grow, the words (philosophy) of men will shrink; their ideas will give way to the Will of God.
· The Ministry of the Word is for publishing not for hoarding. Acts 13:49 you can publish through the Print, electronic and the Internet media.
· The ministry of the Word needs a hearing ear or audience, congregation. Acts 13:44
· It is necessary that we engage ourselves in the Ministry of the Word. Acts 13:46
· Preach the Word and not your philosophies. Acts 15:35-36; 18:11; Prov. 30:6; 2Tim 4:1-4
· The sends help towards the path of those who minister the word of God. Acts 16:14
· The ministry of the Word renders and impoverishes non-believers, making them bankrupt and irrelevant. Acts 19:20-41
· Acts 29:30-31. The ministry of the Word represents the contents of the message of the Kingdom of God. “For where the word of a king is there is power.” Prov.
· It is pure and a shield- Prov. 30:5
· Preach the word not people
· Not Ideas
· Not Theories
· Not philosophies
· Not the times
· Not other churches
· Not your problems
Preaching the word of God will bring you the blessings of the God of the Word (The owner of the Word).
When we preach only the Word, the Lord of harvest will confirm it with signs and wonders. Acts 8:4-13; 2:41-47
Don’t forget that the Word of God is the resource upon which the Holy Spirit demonstrates the power of God. The Word of God without the Holy Spirit will lead to dogma. Prayer without the Word of God leads to mysticism. The word of God is the compass you use to find your way in the wilderness of life. It is the pair of compass that you use to construct your perfect circle of life and dreams and destiny.
The book of Genesis began with God creating the worlds, while the book of Revelation closed with a warning not to add or remove from its contents. Rev. 22:18-19

· Those in the ministry of the Word receive double honor/salary. 1 Tim 5:17-18

· The ministry of the word is sound. 1 Tim. 1:13
· The word is faithful. Titus 1;9
· The word is part of the armour of the believer; known as the sword of the Spirit. Eph. 6:17b

List of the College of Bishops (Not all Bishops make up the members of the House of Bishops; the College of Bishops consists of all Bishops that had their history with the Yeshua Embassy Network of Churches but may not be actively involved in the workings of the operations of the Network. But the House of Bishops consists of actively involved Bishops of this Network in the form of funding, ideas, resources and active presence during congresses and conventions. All Bishops run independent Churches and Ministries. Members of the College of Bishops owe the Administration explanation for their absence in a congress or convention. But those of the House of Bishops owe nobody explanation once they are consecrated they may never account to headquarters but they are still under the oversight of the Yeshua Embassy Network of Churches.
